On Mothers Day Sunday, May 13, 2012, I collaborated with seven singers, a bassoonist, two flutists and a horn player, in a themed concert called Generations United at Mishkan Torah Congregation in Greenbelt, MD.

Quoting from the program notes, “[In this concert] We celebrate generational change and continuity at Mishkan Torah by presenting a … spectrum of younger and veteran artists…What more auspicious day than Mothers Day could we pick for such an occasion”?

Note: the sound samples in the blog posting were made using the on camera microphone used to make the excellent photographs and should be considered to be “low-fidelity”. “Andrew was an incredibly supportive and versatile pianist in Ash Lawn Opera’s Education and Outreach performances in 2011. He supported soprano and Teaching Artist, Mary Gresock, in 14 performances for over 900 children in Albemarle County and graciously played in any key that Mary or the children needed. On Friday evening, May 21st, 2010, Megan Ihnen, and I were privileged to present a private recital program of popular Neapolitan songs in the “Formal Salon”, pictured above, at The Villa Firenze, the residence of the Ambassador of Italy to Washington, Giulio Terzi di Sant’Agata. The Ambassador’s wife, Dott.ssa Antonella Cinque, graciously introduced us herself. Our performance, “…a surprise gift…” for Senator Mario d’Urso, was warmly received by the Senator as well as the approximately 75 people in the audience. It was a joy to perform for such an appreciative and knowledgeable audience.
